To say that this has been my most significant and influential year to date would be an understatement. The last few months in particular have taken me on a roller coaster ride littered with cruel, unfair realities of life and personal tragedies; as well as shown me the depths of true friendship and given me front seat views to hard work actually paying off.
Yeah. I know, right!? Who would have thought?
Ultimately all of this brought about the realization that 2015 will be an even bigger and greater year. This combination, albeit brutal at times, has given me the motivation to become a better man and do better by others like never before. It’s a good time to get around me if you haven’t already. You know. Just sayin’.
One of the super awesome results of my surge in motivation is the resurrection of this long neglected site with a refreshed look, a definitive purpose, scheduled quality content and a brand spankin’ new logo! For those of you that didn’t know, graphics design (and in particular branding and logo development), has been a passion of mine for quite a number of years. So without further ado…
So what do you think?
This logo is a result of a few dozen attempts at a design to incorporate my initials or my name into a geometric shape using negative space in a minimalist way, if you haven’t already noticed the obvious. Duh.
Negative space in logo design has long been something which has fascinated me for a while now and I’ve always found minimalist designs to have the most impact. Needless to say the logo has gone through an approval process of at least around twenty or so people so a few of you may already recognize it.
In case you still haven’t noticed the negative-space letters, here is a horizontal version of the logo.
If you can’t see it there, well, there’s no helping you.
In addition to the logo and the overall website refresh, I have put together a little information giving you an insight into a little bit about me and what this site is all about along with a handy contacts page if you ever want to get in touch with me.
Finally, after close to a decade and more redesigns and reboots than I can remember this site has finally been given a purpose. It is no longer a site I own purely because of my name. It now acts as a central hub for my entire online presence and a directory of my projects. A place where I can be reached on no matter where you may find yourselves (so long as you have internet access and a laptop or a phone).
So what are your thoughts on the new logo and site direction folks? Let me know in the comments below.
Love you all and stay awesome!
